About Rise

CARF logo Rise supports people who have disabilities and other barriers to employment in attaining their personal measure of safe and affordable housing, vocational achievement, self-sufficiency, and belonging in their communities. Rise is dedicated to building a community that is more accepting of all of its citizens and we support the development of creative partnerships with businesses, government agencies, and the general public to meet this objective. History

Rise was started on a truly grassroots level by parents, community leaders, educators, and business people who were concerned about how men and women with disabilities in the north suburban area of Anoka County were going to find and maintain meaningful employment. Rise was incorporated in 1971 and is headquartered Spring Lake Park, Minnesota.

Celebrate Rise, 2010!

Friends & associates of Rise are invited to attend a special event celebrating the people who exemplify our mission to make this community one that supports integration and self-sufficiency for everyone. We will honor and recognize Champions of the Mission, Rise’ing Stars, and other community supporters with special awards.

Celebrate Rise, 2010 will be held Sunday, April 18th from 4pm to 7:30 pm at Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center. The event will include a social hour, dinner and an awards program. More >>

Pathways for Refugees supports those new to the country in their quest to work and live a good life

With $120,000 in new funding from the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) through the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Rise started the Pathways for Refugees program on October 1. Rise has been serving refugees and immigrants who are receiving MFIP (Minnesota Family Investment Program or welfare) since 1999. Program participants benefit from customized career planning, job placement, as well as intensive follow-up and support services which help them find and keep a good job. More >>
